Three new direct routes from Stockholm Arlanda with Norwegian

Norwegian Air Shuttle continues to expand its network of routes and is launching four direct routes from Sweden to eastern Europe in time for the summer 2020 season. Norwegian will start flying from Stockholm Arlanda to Palanga, Lithuania; Gdansk, Poland; and Tivat, Montenegro. In addition to the routes from Stockholm Arlanda, the carrier will start flying to Gdansk from Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

More than 45 per cent of passengers flying to or from Stockholm Arlanda and to or from Gdansk travel for business purposes. Like with passengers flying between Stockholm Arlanda and Lithuania, the second reason is to see family and friends or to visit the destination as a tourist. Both Palanga and Tivat are brand-new destinations. Poland is also growing in importance to the hospitality industry in terms of visitors coming to the Stockholm region. Calculated in commercial overnight stays, in September Poland was the fourteenth largest international market, having grown almost 30 per cent in 2019.

The direct route Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) – Gdansk (GDN) will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, beginning April 2, 2020. The route will operate two times a week, on Mondays and Fridays, from mid-June to mid-August. Norwegian will be the second carrier to fly this route.

The new route Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) – Palanga (PLQ) will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, beginning March 2, 2020. Norwegian will be the only carrier to offer non-stop service on this route.

The new route Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) – Tivat (TIV) will operate once a week, on Wednesdays, beginning April 1, 2020. Norwegian will be the only carrier to offer non-stop service on this route.

For many years, Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work. All ten of its airports shall have zero emissions of fossil carbon dioxide from their own operations by 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the industry’s transition to bio fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used to refuel aircraft at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025.
