Iberia to Fly Daily Between Stockholm and Madrid

2016-11-10, kl. 14:46

At the start of the 2016/2017 Winter flight program , Iberia is expanding its operations between Stockholm and Madrid by 20 percent. The Spanish airline will now fly daily between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and the Spanish capital instead of the five weekly flights it operated during the previous Winter season.

Swedish travellers will now have more opportunities to connect to Iberia´s 30 Spanish destinations, Lisbon and Oporto in neighbouring Portugal, eight destinations in Africa and five US destinations.

“We are really pleased that Iberia invests in Stockholm Arlanda with daily operations. Madrid is growing steadily as a destination for Swedes and since last year traffic has increased by 15 percent. The possibiltiy to connect via Madrid to other popular Spanish destinations or further is also very positive for Swedish travellers”, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director of Aviation Business at Swedavia.

“These daily flights mean that we will be able to serve better our Swedish customers and also those flying from other countries to Stockholm via Madrid. Though the favourite destinations of our passengers from Stockholm Arlanda are Madrid, Alicante, Malaga, Jerez de la Frontera, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo, they are also discovering other destinations such as Montevideo, Mexico and Johannesburg. With our daily flights between Madrid and Stockholm, our new aircraft and long-haul cabins, the convenient schedule and transfer experience in T4 at Madrid Airport, we aim to improve the service offered to our Swedish customers”, says Celia Muñoz, Iberia’s Sales Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The aircrafts used on the route are 141-seat Airbus A319s and 171-seat A320s, both with Business and Economy sections.
