Amapola to expand service at Stockholm Arlanda with a new route to the Finnish city of Kokkola during the summer

The Swedish carrier Amapola is expanding its route network to Finland and will offer direct service from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Kokkola, on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, during the peak summer season.
For a number of years, there has been no air connection between Stockholm and the coastal city of Kokkola in central Finland. The Swedish airline Amapola is now picking up the route and will offer non-stop service to Kokkola for four weeks during the summer.
Between July 7 and August 7, Amapola Airlines will offer non-stop service between Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport (KOK), with fifteen departures. Tickets are now on sale.
Amapola Airlines is a Swedish airline that was formed in 2004. Amapola has a uniform fleet of Fokker 50 aircraft. It applies modern and energy-efficient technology wherever possible, and travel and transport are provided using environmentally friendly alternatives to the greatest extent possible to minimise the environmental impact.
Swedavia’s work for net-zero aviation
Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work for many years. All ten of its airports achieved the goal of zero fossil carbon dioxide emissions from their own operations by year-end 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the switch to sustainable aviation fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used for refuelling at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025. Swedavia’s climate transition work and pioneering work to operate climate-smart airports have won international awards, and in 2021 the trade organisation Airports Council International (ACI) named Stockholm Arlanda Airport Eco-Innovation Airport of the Year. Swedavia offers all travellers flying from one of its airports the option of buying biofuel for their entire journey or parts of it via flygreenfund.se/swedavia.
