"This is really welcome," said Robert Gyllroth, airport director at Örnsköldsvik Airport on the Swedish radio channel P4 Västernorrland.

After a break of nearly ten years, SAS is now returning to Örnsköldsvik. The carrier stopped serving the airport in December 2008 due to poor profitability.

Initially there will be four daily departures in each direction, that is, a total of eight departures between Stockholm Arlanda and Örnsköldsvik Airport.

An ATR-72 model will serve the route, which debuts April 8, 2018.

You can also fly to Örnsköldsvik from Stockholm Arlanda with Nextjet.
