Eurowings add direct routes to Cyprus and the Greek archipelago
Lufthansa Group’s low-cost carrier, Eurowings, continues to have confidence in the Swedish market’s wanderlust and is adding two direct routes from its new base at Stockholm Arlanda to the Greek island of Mykonos and to Larnaca, Cyprus.
Eurowings is continuing its expansion in Sweden and at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. In conjunction with the 2022 summer programme, the German low cost carrier will open a new base at Arlanda in late March. Eurowings currently provides non-stop service from Stockholm Arlanda to Hamburg and Düsseldorf. Before the pandemic, it also served Cologne, a destination it will now resume flying to in late May. With the set-up of its new base, the carrier will initially serve 16 European destinations, a number of which are new for the airport and will complement Arlanda’s other routes on offer.
Eurowings is now adding two direct routes – to Larnaca, Cyprus, which is the third largest island in the Mediterranean, and to Mykonos, surrounded by the Aegean Sea in the popular Greek archipelago. There is currently no service to Mykonos, so this will be a new addition to the range of destinations available from Stockholm Arlanda.
Starting May 1, 2022, Eurowings will fly the route Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Larnaca International Airport (LCA) in Cyprus twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Starting May 21, 2022, Eurowings will fly the route Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Mykonos International Airport (JMK) with one weekly departure on Saturdays.
Alongside its existing routes to Düsseldorf and Hamburg and the two new routes to Larnaca and Mykonos, Eurowings will also launch non-stop service to Alicante (ALC), Barcelona (BCN), Berlin (BER), Birmingham (BHX), Heraklion (HER), Cologne (CGN), Malaga (AGP), Nice (NCE), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Prague (PRG), Rhodes (RHO) and Rome (FCO) starting this spring from its Stockholm based, which will be inaugurated on March 27. Tickets are now on sale.
Eurowings works continuously to minimise its impact on the environment and combat climate change. With partners such as myclimate and Compensaid, the carrier works to reduce and offset carbon dioxide emissions, and among other measures offers passengers the chance to purchase biofuel for their journey.
