Portrait of Armand Duplantis added to "Welcome to my hometown" at Arlanda
"Welcome to my hometown", the portrait gallery in the baggage halls at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which has welcomed travellers to Stockholm and Sweden for 20 years, has a new addition: Armand "Mondo" Duplantis. On Tuesday, the pole vaulter and world record holder unveiled his portrait together with Karl Eklund, Swedavia's airport director at Arlanda.

“I am incredibly happy to be part of the portrait gallery "Welcome to my hometown" at Arlanda. When I see all the other fantastic Swedes hanging there, it is a great honour and I am proud to welcome all travellers to Stockholm”, says Armand Duplantis.
Earlier this spring, Armand Duplantis was selected by a newly appointed jury, consisting of representatives from Swedavia, Stockholm Business Region and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. He is one of two new additions who will take their place on the wall of the portrait gallery "Welcome to my hometown" in the baggage hall in Terminal 5 at Arlanda. He is in good company with Benjamin Ingrosso, whose portrait was unveiled this spring, alongside several other prominent figures who have made significant contributions to the Stockholm region in areas such as innovation, culture, sport, business, music, art and design.
“I am very happy to welcome Armand Duplantis to Arlanda and ‘Welcome to my hometown’. The gallery is a much appreciated feature at the airport, giving returning Swedes the opportunity to feel proud of their country and capital, and foreign visitors a chance to discover Sweden and get to know the country a little better. Armand Duplantis is a great role model for young and old alike, and with his passion and charisma, he has not only conquered his sport but also captured the hearts of many Swedes watching at home from their sofas”, says Karl Eklund, Swedavia's airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
