Ahead of the summer of 2024 Norwegian is launching another new direct route from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, this time to the popular city of Dubrovnik in Croatia. The addition of the new route means that Norwegian will start in total five new routes from Gothenburg Landvetter next spring. The new route to Dubrovnik will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting May 1, 2024
Ahead of the summer program 2024 Norwegian has expanded its offer from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport considerably and is now launching yet another new direct route, this time to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Dubrovnik is perhaps the most visited and internationally known tourist destination in Croatia and is characterized by its mild climate, long history, its outstanding architecture, and historic buildings. Many also travel to Dubrovnik to visit family and friends.
- There is a great confidence in the Swedish air travel market, and Norwegian’s investment in additional direct routes from Göteborg Landvetter Airport is a clear sign of this. Norwegian has a longstanding presence at Swedavias airports and plays an important role in connecting Sweden to well-established markets in Europe, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. Our main goal is to increase the connectivity and Norwegians vast network facilitates for people to meet, whether it is for business, leisure or to visit family and friends, says she.
- We are happy to be able to continue developing the route network on the West Coast and with today's launch you will be able to fly directly to nine destinations from Gothenburg. There is great interest in being able to fly directly from Gothenburg and it is therefore pleasing to be able to offer more departures next year. We look forward to welcoming travelers on board, says Magnus Thome Maursund, commercial director at Norwegian.
During the winter program between October and March, there are direct routes to Alicante, Barcelona, Las Palmas and Malaga from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. During the summer season of 2024, there will be direct routes to eight destinations from the airport: Nice, Palma/Mallorca, London Gatwick, Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Pristina and Dubrovnik.

Norwegian is one of the Nordic countries' largest airlines and one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines with approximately 4,500 employees. The company offers an extensive route network between the Nordic countries and destinations in Europe. Since the company was founded in 2002, over 300 million passengers have flown with Norwegian. The ambition has always been to offer cheap plane tickets and increased freedom of choice during the trip.
Norwegian wants to be a driving force in aviation's green transition. The goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 45 percent by 2030. To get there, the company renews the aircraft fleet, promotes renewable aviation fuels, reduces and recycles waste, and uses weather and wind data for more efficient flights that reduce fuel consumption. Norwegian wants to be the most sustainable choice for passengers.
Swedavia’s work for fossil-free aviation
Swedavia has carried out ambitious climate work for many years. All ten of its airports achieved the goal of zero fossil carbon dioxide emissions from their own operations by year-end 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the switch to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used for refueling at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025. Swedavia’s climate transition work and its pioneering work to operate climate-smart airports have won international awards, and in 2021 the trade organization Airports Council International (ACI) named Stockholm Arlanda Airport Eco-Innovation Airport of the Year. Swedavia offers all passengers flying from one of Swedavia’s airports the option to purchase SAF for all or part of their journey via flygreenfund.se/swedavia.
