Non-stop service with Ryanair to Dublin from Gothenburg

2018-10-11, kl. 12:59

Ryanair’s strong growth at Göteborg Landvetter Airport continues. The airline is launching its fourth new addition to the timetable, a direct route to Dublin starting with the 2019 summer season. Flights will depart for the capital of the green island of Ireland twice weekly.

Beginning in April 2019, Ryanair will fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays between its home base of Dublin and Göteborg Landvetter. Since 2011, traffic has more than doubled on this route, which is flown by business travellers as well as leisure travellers in both directions. The new route will also make it easier for many Irish people who travel to the Gothenburg region to visit friends and relatives.

”We are pleased that a rapidly expanding Ryanair sees the potential of this growing region of western Sweden and has chosen to launch another direct route here. Above all, it will benefit our business travellers, since that volume has tripled in six years and now accounts for 40 per cent of the traffic that has to make a stopover between Gothenburg and Dublin today. With the carrier’s modern aircraft fleet, leisure travellers are also offered a smooth air link to a new weekend destination,” said Charlotte Ljunggren, Airport Director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

Despite its small size, the Irish capital is a global city and a popular destination. Dublin has a long history dating back to Viking times and with its modern culture today, Dublin is a centre for education, art, music, business and trade. A number of multinational companies in IT, medicine and communication have operations in the region, such as Microsoft, Pfizer, Google, Facebook and LinkedIn.

“We’re pleased to once again announce a new Gothenburg route. Dublin is our new route, following already announced Barcelona, Manchester and Prague, commencing in April 2019, which will operate twice weekly as part of our Summer 2019 schedule,” said Chris Lundshøj, Sales and Marketing Executive Scandinavia and Baltics at Ryanair.
