Wizz Air to further expand at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with a new route to Bucharest

Wizz Air continues to expand at Stockholm Arlanda by adding a new route to their overall offer from the airport. The new route will operate the Băneasa - Aurel Vlaicu Airport in Bucharest three times a week, starting om March 30, 2026.

- Wizz Air’s investment in additional direct routes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport is a clear sign of the continued high demand for international travel. Wizz Air has a longstanding presence at Swedavias airports and plays an important role in connecting Sweden to well-established markets in eastern Europe, said Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. Swedavias goal is to increase the connectivity and facilitate for people to meet, whether it is for business, leisure or to visit family and friends and Wizz Air is an important part of this.

 

As one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe, Wizz Air continues to expand its vast network. By adding Bucharest in Romania to their overall offer from Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Wizz Air further strengthens the connectivity to several regions in eastern Europe from Sweden.

 

- With the launch of the new Bucharest Băneasa–Stockholm Arlanda route, we are further strengthening Wizz Air’s presence in Sweden and expanding our network at Stockholm Arlanda, stated Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air. This new connection adds to our existing services from Stockholm to Tirana, Gdańsk, Skopje and Budapest, bringing the total number of routes from the airport to five. Starting on March 30, 2026, Wizz Air will operate Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Bucharest (BBU) three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, using a A321 aircraft with a seat capacity of 239.
