Swedavia’s traffic statistics for March 2026: Continued positive development for air travel – both international and domestic
2026-04-03, kl. 06:00
In March, almost 2.6 million passengers traveled via Swedavia’s ten airports. In total, air travel increased by just over five percent compared to March 2025. Demand continued to strengthen for both international and domestic air travel. International travel increased by five percent, and domestic travel increased by six percent.
The positive trend in March was driven by continued demand for both international and domestic air travel. Although developments varied locally between airports, almost all airports – with the exception of Kiruna – showed an increase. International traffic was affected to some extent by the situation in the Middle East. However, overall the development was positive.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden’s largest airport, had just under 1.9 million passengers in March, an increase of five percent compared to March last year. International air travel increased by five percent to just over 1.5 million passengers, while domestic air travel increased by four percent to nearly 378,000 passengers.
Göteborg Landvetter Airport had just over 384,000 passengers in March, an increase of four percent compared to the same month last year. International air travel increased by almost five percent to just over 341,000 passengers, while domestic air travel remained stable at nearly 43,000 passengers.
Swedavia’s other eight airports also showed positive development, though with local variations. Visby Airport and Åre Östersund Airport reported the strongest growth among the regional airports, up 28 percent and 16 percent respectively compared with the same month last year.
Bromma Stockholm Airport had just over 5,500 passengers in March, corresponded to just under three percent of pre-pandemic levels.
