Swedavia makes organisational changes to strengthen air connectivity in Sweden

Strong domestic and international connectivity is essential to Sweden’s growth and competitiveness. It also plays an important role in connecting communities across the country and strengthening Sweden’s links with the rest of the world. Swedavia is therefore implementing changes to create a more customer-focused and cost-efficient organisation, with the aim of improving the conditions for Swedish aviation. As part of this process, Swedavia is also making changes to its organisational structure.
“We need to develop Arlanda’s position as an international hub while supporting a well-functioning airport network across Sweden. By reducing organisational complexity, prioritising our core mission and moving decision-making closer to our customers, we will create a more efficient organisation. This will also involve reducing the number of positions within our support functions,” says Mats Johannesson, President and CEO of Swedavia.
The process of adapting and streamlining the organisation will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. In total, around 125 positions, including current vacancies, will be affected. As part of the organisational changes, Swedavia has today given notice of planned redundancies affecting 95 positions, primarily at its head office in Stockholm.
“We recognise that these necessary changes will affect many of our colleagues. Our priority is to support those impacted and ensure that the process is handled with respect and consideration, with clear communication and support for the employees concerned,” says Mats Johannesson, President and CEO of Swedavia.
