Due to exceptional demand - Etihad Airways upgrades to year-round from Göteborg Landvetter Airport

- This is excellent news, and a clear sign that a direct connection between Gothenburg and the United Arab Emirates has been in demand for a long time. Companies in West Sweden conduct business across Asia, and many of our travelers have relatives, friends, and family in the region. A year-round service will strengthen connectivity for the region, particularly to the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. This investment demonstrates strong confidence in the Swedish aviation market and in West Sweden as a region, says Mats Johannesson, CEO of Swedavia.

The route has seen strong demand in both directions, connecting travellers from western Sweden with Abu Dhabi, the wider Gulf, Asia and the Indian subcontinent, while opening the region to visitors from across Etihad’s global network who are discovering a new Scandinavian destination.

Starting 17 December 2026, Etihad Airways will operate flights between Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) and Abu Dhabi (AUH) four times per week using an Airbus A321LR with a capacity of 160 seats across three cabin classes (First, Business and Economy).
