About Swedavia Real Estate

Swedavia's real estate operations are brought together under Swedavia Real Estate. We are responsible for the buildings and properties that are connected to our airports but which are not directly related to actual airport operations, such as the terminal buildings. These mainly involve hotel and conference facilities and buildings for offices, logistics and other businesses.

Real estate operations at ten airports

Airports have unique value not just as transport hubs but also as meeting places, market places and centres of urban development. Swedavia Real Estate, which brings together all of the company's commercial and property-related matters, was established to capitalise on and develop the opportunities entailed. Our work includes managing and developing properties in a way that enhances the attractiveness and competitiveness of the different airports and their local region.

Investment for continued development

Property development operations constitute part of Swedavia's overall customer offering, but these operations also play a key financial role. Revenue from fully developed properties which are sold to other stakeholders provides an important part of the company's funding for the continued expansion and upgrade of air transport infrastructure. One example of this is the 2014 sale of the hotel property that Swedavia built adjacent to Terminals 4 and 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The hotel met a need for access to hotel accommodations near the airport and created opportunities for Swedavia to continue investing in the expansion of its airports.
