Swedavia’s 2025 Annual and Sustainability Report: Increased international air travel, strengthened route development and positive profit before tax
During the year Swedavia’s long-term commitment to sustainable profitability and operational performance has delivered clear results. In 2025, the company reported a positive profit before tax for the first time since the pandemic, while investments and planning for the future development of Arlanda are continuing.
“For the first time since the pandemic, Swedavia is able to report a profit before tax for the full year in 2025 of SEK 20 million. This is an improvement of SEK 273 million and marks an important milestone for the company,” says Susanne Norman, President and CEO of Swedavia.
Net revenue amounted to SEK 6,801 million, an increase of SEK 408 million compared with 2024. Operating profit increased by SEK 298 million, to SEK 324 million.
In 2025, more than 33 million passengers travelled via Swedavia’s ten airports. Total air traffic increased by 2.4 per cent compared with 2024. Growth was driven by international travel, which increased by 3.2 per cent, while domestic travel remained at the same level as in 2024. In October, an important milestone was reached when the number of international passengers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport exceeded the equivalent pre‑pandemic monthly level for the first time since 2019.
Interest in the Swedish aviation market is increasing. Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Göteborg Landvetter Airport and Malmö Airport reported positive development with more destinations and increased frequencies.
During 2025, an important step was taken when the decision was made to start detailed design work for a new pier, “Pier G”, as well as a new baggage handling system and expanded check‑in capacity in Terminal 5.
