Passenger record for Swedavia’s airports in January

More than 2,900,000 passengers flew to or from Swedavia’s airports in January 2018, which is a 2 per cent increase compared to the same month in 2017. International passenger volume was up more than 3 per cent to over 1,900,000 passengers. Domestic passenger volume was essentially on the same level as in 2017, at 1,006,000 passengers.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport saw a 2 per cent increase to more than 1,800,000 passengers. Volume at Göteborg Landvetter Airport rose 2 per cent to more than 450,000 passengers and volume at Bromma Stockholm Airport rose 3 per cent to 185,000 passengers.

At the group’s seven other airports, there were relatively small changes in passenger volume. The greatest increases in absolute numbers were at Malmö Airport (to 156,000 passengers, a 2 per cent increase) and Åre Östersund Airport (to 46,000 passengers, a 5 per cent increase).

The total number of passengers for the most recent (rolling) twelve-month period was 41,980,000, which is a 6 per cent increase.

In the most recent (rolling) twelve-month period, domestic traffic was up 2 per cent to 14,000,000 passengers while international traffic was up 8 per cent to 27,960,000.
