Continued passenger growth in April

International travel at Swedavia's airports was up fifteen per cent overall in April, when 2,252,000 passengers flew to or from an international destination. However, domestic travel fell during the month to 1,161,000 passengers, a five per cent decrease compared to last year.

Some 2,175,000 passengers flew to or from Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which is a ten per cent increase compared to April last year. Some 1,724,000 passengers travelled internationally to or from Stockholm Arlanda in April, which is a fifteen per cent increase compared to the same month last year, whereas domestic traffic fell four per cent, with domestic passenger volume of 451,000.

Göteborg Landvetter Airport had a nine per cent increase in passenger volume compared to April last year, with 549,000 passengers flying to or from the airport during the fourth month of the year. Göteborg Landvetter Airport's international passenger volume was also up fifteen per cent, with 425,000 passengers flying internationally to or from the airport. However, domestic travel fell seven per cent in April.

Other passenger increases in April noted:
• Kiruna Airport, which increased travel overall by twenty-one per cent (to 23,500 passengers)
• Visby Airport, which increased travel overall by five per cent (to 45,800 passengers)
So far this year, 12,487,000 passengers have flown to or from Swedavia's airports, which is an increase of more than six per cent compared to the same period last year.
