New route between Umeå and Helsinki

2015-04-10, kl. 08:54

On May 18, the new international route between Helsinki and Umeå Airport will be launched. With daily departures during the six warmer months of the year, access between northern Sweden and Finland is enhanced. The  new route will be operated by Flybe for Finnair, and estimated flying time is 1 hour and 5 minutes from Umeå Airport.

The well-placed investment to refurbish Umeå Airport to meet the needs of passengers in the region is bearing fruit. The airport’s increased capacity and improved terminal functions have created potential to attract new routes and airlines.

“We are really pleased about Finnair’s investment in Umeå Airport. Helsinki Airport is also an important hub for travelling elsewhere in the world, including Asia, which is Finnair’s big market. This creates unique opportunities for incoming tourism as well as for business relations in Finland and the rest of the world,” says B-O Lindgren, airport director at Umeå Airport.
