Fly non-stop to Alicante from Umeå Airport with Norwegian

2012-11-07, kl. 16:12

There was a little extra celebration for the first scheduled flight to Las Palmas, with passengers treated to a glass of bubbly and sweets in the terminal before their departure. Most passengers are seasoned flyers to Gran Canaria and appreciated the chance to now fly there on scheduled service. Meanwhile it was announced that beginning in the summer of 2013 a non-stop route to Alicante will be launched.

”There is a departure to Las Palmas every Thursday night. That provides enormous possibilities for people who want to plan their travel themselves. The fact that Norwegian is now launching non-stop service to Alicante shows that the airline is investing in Umeå Airport, which we of course are delighted about,” says a pleased Bengt-Ove Lindgren, airport director at Umeå Airport.

“With our establishment of a base in Alicante, this opens up new opportunities for us to invest even more in these regions as we continue to expand. We believe strongly in developing new markets, and Umeå Airport is an important collaborative partner for us. Our service to Las Palmas from Umeå exceeds expectations, and we now hope that people from the region of Västerbotten will also appreciate our non-stop service to Alicante, which will be launched in the summer of 2013,” says Åsa Larsson, head of communications at Norwegian.
