“Umeå Airport’s passengers will get a nice, warm welcome while at the same time the airport is branded as a European Capital of Culture,” says Åsa Johansson, sales and marketing manager at Umeå AirportHeart-shaped balloons, dance instructions, a hopscotch grid and a labyrinth have been set up in the terminal.
“These interactive spaces also increase the value of passengers’ time at Umeå Airport,” says Ms Johansson.
Umeå2014’s visibility at Umeå Airport is the result of a partnership that was launched in the autumn of 2013.
“It is really nice that we can help provide passengers a warm welcome while giving Umeå’s year as a European Capital of Culture an opportunity to generate interest in Umeå’s dynamic cultural life,” says Elisabeth Lind, head of communication for Umeå2014.
