The environment

Ronneby Airport is owned and operated by Swedavia, which works continuously to reduce its environmental impact under the ISO 14001 environmental management system.

Ronneby Airport has heavy vehicles for activities like snow removal and airport maintenance during the winter. Everyone who operates heavy vehicles is trained in eco-driving in order to drive in a more environmentally-friendly manner. As a result, it is calculated that the airport saves about 15-20 per cent in fuel use. The airport’s most important environmental target is zero and at the same time very large: producing zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2020.
