Art exhibition by Jimmy Dahlberg
The exhibition “Free Energy Spray Paintings” by Jimmy Dahlberg will be on display in the terminal August 10 to October 23.
With his ongoing, life-long theme “Free Energy”, Jimmy Dahlberg wants to access – and convey – energy and make it visible. Energy released in the moment is what determines the work. His works are created with explosive energy to music after a long period of preparation.
“Free Energy Spray Paintings” is a new series of abstract paintings created especially for the Åre Östersund Art Wall. To ensure that the paintings can be interpreted completely freely, the works have no titles. Since early 2015 more of Jimmy Dahlberg’s art can also be experienced in a changing process at Åre Östersund Airport.
Jimmy Dahlberg was born in 1981 in Östersund, in the north of Sweden. He works in media such as sculpture, painting, performance, graphic art, photography and graphic design. He is considered a rising star in the art world according to the innovation research and advisory firm Stylus, which is part of the global media giant Hearst Corporation. One of his sculptures can be seen in A&A’s European Sculpture Park in Pabianice, Poland.
He has also created trophies for the EU’s European Energy Trophy contest in Brussels. Dahlberg has been written about in The Times as well as on many of the biggest art websites. His works have been exhibited at Jamtli – the Jämtland County museum. Dahlberg’s most recent performance was shown on Sweden’s national public television station.
