“When we introduced Croatia as a new destination from Åre Östersund, it quickly became a great favourite. Croatia has become one of the most sought after destinations among Scandinavians in recent years, and the flights were booked really quickly. The country is known, among other things, for its fascinating history, wide offering of cultural and natural experiences and local hospitality, which our travellers find appealing,” says Haris Nuspahic, chief business development officer at Kroatienspecialisten.
Flights go directly from Åre Östersund Airport to Split. From there, it is easy to get to popular destinations such as the Makarska Riviera, Vodice and the island of Brac, which is known for its long beaches and crystal-clear water. Hotels and holiday apartments are usually located right near the beaches.
“We are really pleased that we can offer non-stop service to Croatia next year as well for residents in the region. Flying non-stop from one’s own ‘home airport’ is highly appreciated and in great demand,” says Susanne Norman, airport director at Åre Östersund Airport.
