New record – 73 departures to the sun and warmth

2013-04-29, kl. 16:29

The new season is now starting with non-stop charter flights from Åre Östersund Airport to warmer climes around the Mediterranean, to the popular destinations of Turkey, Majorca, Rhodes and the Canary Islands.

“We see a continuous increase in the number of departures on offer. This year some 13,000 residents of Jämtland have an opportunity to fly non-stop from their home airport on their holiday. That is an increase of almost 40% over last year,” says Susanne Norman, airport director at Åre Östersund Airport.

Turkey continues to be very popular, but our other destinations are also on the rise. This year, six different tour operators account for the trips available (Vingresor, Fritidsresor, Apollo, Detur, Nazar and Turkietresor).

During the spring, the airport will also carry out some minor refurbishment in the tax-free shop in order to offer more products. We have already increased the number of spaces available in the long-term parking facility.

Non-stop from Åre Östersund Airport:

  • 48 departures to Turkey
  • 11 departures to Majorca
  • 5 departures to Rhodes
  • 9 departures to the Canary Islands
