  • This year SAS celebrates its 70th anniversary

    In 1946, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) made its official maiden flight between Stockholm and New York. Since then, SAS has made life easier for passengers flying to and from Scandinavia. SAS’s 70th anniversary is being celebrated with the exhibition “Congratulations SAS on your 70th anniversary,” which features uniforms and other retro items.

  • Increased international travel in October

    The strong growth in international air travel continued in October. The number of passengers who flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports increased by a total of five per cent in October compared to the same period in 2014. International travel was up a full nine per cent.

  • Crossing Borders to open at Åre Östersund Airport

    On October 16, the exhibition Crossing Borders will open at Åre Östersund Airport. The exhibition includes a portrait of the singer/songwriter Annika Norlin, who is known under her English stage name Hello Saferide and her Swedish stage name Säkert!, and comes from Östersund. Sweden’s Nationalmuseum is hoping to be able to display more art in the region going forward, and next year will have an expanded regional remit to develop Nationalmuseum Norr for northern Sweden.
