You must check how long before departure you need to be present for the airport staff to be able to provide the necessary service.
You must be at the the pick-up point at least two hours prior to departure time, or earlier if you have been given such information by the tour operator.
If you choose to be met at check-in, then you must meet at least one hour prior to departure time. Staff will meet up at the relevant pick-up point or by the check-in desks.
There are various ways to check in. For manual check in at the desk, you show your flight ticket and identification. With certain airlines, you can check in via the internet or mobile telephone. Check with your airline how you should check in.

You are met at a pick-up point/meeting point or in the check-in hall where you are loaned a wheelchair if you have an electric wheelchair. Once check-in is completed, you are assisted through security to the gate and then on to boarding.
You normally get assistance to board the aircraft before the other passengers board. The aircraft is then empty, and there is plenty of room to help you into your seat.
Boarding with a jetty
Larger airports often have passenger bridges, called jetties, that lead directly into the aircraft from the terminal. If you use a wheel-chair you are assisted to the aircraft door, where you are then transferred to a wheelchair narrow enough to fit within the aircraft aisle.
You then recieve help to your seat in the aircraft, and to move from the narrow wheelchair into the seat. Private wheelchairs are taken directly to the aircraft's baggage hold and is loaded with the baggage and goods.
Boarding without a jetty
Some airports have special vehicles for boarding if they lack jetties. You roll your wheel-chair into the vehicle compartment, which is raised to the aircraft door, and then you roll on board the aircraft.
At other airports, staff carry you into the aircraft with the help of a palanquin. Another method is for the aircraft stairwell to be equipped with a lift device to simplify boarding.
At the airport information is given about arrival and departure times on information boards and monitors. Many airports also have a manned information desk.
When arriving at the airport, information is given to a certain extent as a loudspeaker announcement. Larger airports limit the number of loudspeaker annoucements and instead direct you to information boards and monitors. Many airports also have a manned information desk that can provide current information.
It can be difficult for those suffering from allergies to avoid allergy-forming factors in an airport environment. For example, scents from perfume shops can spread outside the shop. Smoking in cafés and restaurants can cause problems at airports outside of Sweden. Similar situation for furred animals and other traveller's perfumes.
