During the spring, a total refurbishment will begin of the Scandinavian Service Partners Food Market and Kiosk, which is located after the security checkpoint at Malmö Airport. After the refurbishment, the sports bar O’Learys, the café FIKA and the shop WH Smith, selling both international and Swedish magazines and newspapers, will instead open there.
“We will open an O‘Learys, a concept that needs no further introduction. We will also enhance our café concept with our popular FIKA eatery. Here you can enjoy everything from a traditional cup of coffee and pastry to tasty sandwiches and trendy healthy treats such as nuts and smoothies. Of course, we will offer a strong newspaper stand concept in the form of the internationally noted WH Smith,” says Mikael Olsson, operations manager of Scandinavian Service Partner at Malmö Airport.
An improved passenger experience
Malmö Airport’s director, Peter Weinhandl, warmly welcomes the new additions after the security checkpoint, especially since they provide something positive for passengers.
“It is really great that we are getting new well-known brands that will enhance the passenger experience. O’Learys, FIKA and WH Smith also have operations today at Stockholm Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter and are products that fit in well at an airport,” he notes.
During the refurbishment, passengers who have passed through the security checkpoint will find food and drinks served by Scandinavian Service Partner in a temporary sales outlet, located between the security checkpoint and Gate 2.
