The Pope visit in Lund and Malmö may affect road traffic to and from the airport the morning of October 31 and around lunchtime on November 1. There is a risk of temporary stops on road E65 to Malmö and road 108 to Lund (October 31). There may also be some impact on bus services, availability of parking lots and other operations at the airport. The impact on air traffic is expected to be very small. The airport's parking areas are open as usual. It will not be possible for the public to follow the Pope's arrival and departure on site. The event will be broadcasted on SVT.

New non-stop route between Malmö and Visby

2012-05-28, kl. 16:30

Malmö Aviation is starting non-stop service between Malmö and Visby on June 4. The route will operate up to four times a week through August 26. As a result, it will be considerably easier and faster for people in southern Sweden to visit one of Sweden’s most popular summer destinations, Gotland.

Malmö Aviation will fly the Malmö-Visby route in partnership with its fellow subsidiary Gotlandsflyg.

“A lot of people think it is fairly complicated to get to Gotland from southern Sweden. So we are pleased that we can meet the demand for fast, smooth transport and provide a solution that enables people in southern Sweden to get to Gotland in about an hour this summer,” says Henrik Löfberg, marketing manager, Malmö Aviation.

“It is really great that Malmö Aviation is expanding its domestic product at Malmö Airport with a popular destination like Visby. We have known for a while that the demand for seats between Scania and Gotland increases in the summer months, so this is good news for our passengers,” says Peter Weinhandl, airport director at Malmö Airport.

Tickets are available on Malmö Aviation’s website: www.malmoaviation.se. Flying time between Malmö and Visby will be about one hour.
