Malmö Airport to serve as cruise airport this summer

2013-05-29, kl. 10:00

You may be flying out of Malmö Airport one Saturday this summer and notice an unusually large number of Spanish-speaking passengers in the terminal. Then you have wound up on one of the Saturdays when more than 1,800 cruise ship passengers will be checking in at the airport for their flight home to Spain, after taking a cruise through Scandinavia. Be sure to allow plenty of time on those days, and why not take the opportunity to see a jumbo jet?

Pullmantur is a Spanish cruise line that arranges cruises in places like the Baltic Sea and the beautiful Norwegian fjords. For several years, the harbour company CMP, Malmö Airport and the municipal tourism organisation have tried to induce them to choose Frihamnskajen in Malmö as the point of departure and landing for ten cruises during the summer.

This year is the first time cruise traffic will be operating, and Pullmantur’s passengers will fly via Malmö Airport, which you may notice if you are flying out of the airport on one of those ten Saturdays between May and September.

See jumbo jets and allow plenty of time before your flight

So it is a good idea to allow a little extra time if you are flying out on one of the days below. You also have an opportunity to see exciting aircraft types at the airport then, since some passengers will be landing in jumbo jets .
