Some 187,000 passengers flew to or from Malmö Airport in November. That is a 9 per cent increase compared to the same month in 2014. There were a total of 65,400 international passengers, an 18 per cent increase compared to last year. Some 121,500 people flew domestically, a 5 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.
“The increase in international traffic is due in large part to Wizz Air’s continued expansion and its launch of a number of new routes from Malmö Airport over the past year,” says Peter Weinhandl, airport director at Malmö Airport.
On December 18, a new route will be launched to the second largest city in Hungary, Debrecen.
The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations increased 6 per cent in November compared to the same month last year.
Overall, from January to November, air traffic to and from Malmö Airport was up 4 per cent. So far this year, more than 2,014,000 passengers have flown to or from the airport.
