Crossing Borders exhibition to open at Malmö Airport

2014-11-18, kl. 15:08

On November 27, the photo exhibition Crossing Borders opens at Malmö Airport. It consists of portraits of well-known Swedes who have achieved international renown in various ways. They include Zlatan Ibrahimović and Timbuktu, who – along with the other portraits – will become part of Sweden’s National Portrait Gallery.

Among the 23 portraits on display at Malmö Airport are the singer/songwriter Jason Diakité, alias Timbuktu, and the football (soccer) player Zlatan Ibrahimović. Timbuktu’s lyrics demonstrate his great verbal dexterity and political commitment. In Fredrik Etoall’s portrait, he is standing on the border between land and sea – between the solidity of the known and the great unknown. Zlatan, with his spectacular acrobatic style of playing, has been one of football’s greatest players for more than a decade. He is always in the spotlight and recently won Sweden’s Footballer of the Year award for the ninth time.

The exhibition Crossing Borders will be on display at Malmö Airport from November 27 to March 1, 2015. There is an app for the exhibition, which serves as an audio guide and contains pictures, sound tracks and portrait texts. The exhibition is located in the check-in hall.
