The Lebanese airline Wings of Lebanon in partnership with tour operator Nakhal  continues to expand in the Swedish market. By summer 2017 Nakhal returns to Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Malmö Airport for a direct service to Beirut. New for this year's summer program is an additional direct route to Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.

Since both airlines Germania and Wings of Lebanon operated direct routes from Stockholm Arlanda in summer 2016, the number of travelers to Beirut increased by 65% compared to summer the year before. In the summer of 2016, Nakhal also flew directly to Beirut from Malmö Airport, greater Copenhagen's second largest airport. Now Nakhal is returning with a direct service to Stockholm and Malmö, but this year a direct route to Gothenburg is also added. Beirut is primarily a leisure destination with a large numbers of travelers visiting friends and relatives.

- We welcome Wings of Lebanon/Nakhal back to our Swedish airports and we are especially pleased to be able to add Gothenburg to the Nakhal service. Last year we saw a strong market resonse and interest in travelling to Lebanon so we are glad that the routes are returning. With this direct service it's now even easier to travel to Beirut from Sweden, for both first time visitors as well as travelers with a background in Lebanon, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Aviation Business Director at Swedavia.

- We operated in 2016 for the first time between Lebanon and Sweden and it was a resounding success. We transported over 6,000 satisfied passengers from Stockholm and Malmo to Beirut, which is a testament to the great service we offered to all our passengers. We offered a reliable and punctual flights at affordable prices making your Beirut trip enjoyable and relaxing. Building on this success and aiming to improve the connectivity between Lebanon and Sweden, we are launching Gothenburg in 2017 as our third destination, says Naji Majdalani, Commercial Director at Nakhal.
