Lufthansa introduces new brand Eurowings
Lufthansa Group has recently introduced its new brand Eurowings on flights from Gothenburg and Germany. It has officially replaced Germanwings as Lufthansa’s main brand for short- and medium-haul flights.
In January 2016, Lufthansa has officially launched its new Brand Eurowings in Europe. The new brand is replacing Germanwings as a brand towards the passengers, bringing about modern Airbus A320 aircraft, a new livery and vast rebranding at all European stations, which has already been implemented as of November 2015.
First flights under the new Eurowings brand livery are already operated in the winter season 2015/2016 on certain flights. The majority of all flight connections will be operated by Eurowings with an EW flight number, while certain flights will continue to be operated by Germanwings on behalf of Eurowings with a 4U flight number.
Since November 2015, Eurowings-Germanwings co-branding logos are already guiding customers through the check-in and boarding process to facilitate orientation during this brand transfer. All Germanwings boarding passes and booking confirmations obtained prior to November 2015 remain in vigor. In addition, the familiar product concept and fare structure (BASIC, SMART, BEST), introduced by Germanwings, also awaits customers on board all Eurowings aircraft. This also includes all benefits for Boomerang Club members or Lufthansa Miles & More status customers.
Eurowings operates on flights between Göteborg Landvetter Airport and Düsseldorf.
