For the first time ever, more than half a million passengers flew internationally from Göteborg Landvetter in July, a 31 per cent increase compared to July 2014. A total of 591,508 passengers flew to or from Göteborg Landvetter in July.

Passenger numbers in July 2015 show a 30 per cent increase compared to 2014. Excluding the additional traffic transferred from Säve Airport, total travel volume from Göteborg Landvetter Airport is still up 8 per cent compared to July 2014.

“There was heavy pressure during the summer, and our employees have done an impressive job. We are now looking forward to the autumn and new exciting challenges to enhance access to western Sweden,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter.

A total of 519,158 passengers flew internationally, which is a 31 per cent increase compared to last year. It is also the first time Göteborg Landvetter has had more than 500,000 international passengers in a single month. Traffic between Göteborg Landvetter and London soared 64 per cent during July.

“We have seen increased pressure on traffic to London, and this autumn there will be three more daily departures,” Ms Ljunggren notes.

Domestic traffic also set a passenger volume record in July, rising 23 per cent during the month compared to July 2014. A total of 72,350 people flew on domestic routes to or from Göteborg Landvetter.

A total of 3,511,436 people have flown to or from Göteborg Landvetter so far this year. Compared to the first seven months of 2014, that is a 19 per cent increase. The increase without the additional traffic from Säve Airport is 3 per cent.
