A sharp rise in domestic travel in particular contributed to the higher figures – compared to February 2013, domestic traffic was a full 9 per cent, to 104,329 passengers, in February this year.
“The domestic routes at Göteborg Landvetter are a strong product with a wide offering that is also reasonably priced and reliable,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, commenting on the latest statistics for domestic traffic.
A total of 251,408 people flew internationally in February 2014. That is a record number of international passengers for the month of February at Göteborg Landvetter and an increase of 813 passengers over the old record, set in 2013.
“The strong travel trend is sustained, as we saw all last year. We continue to work in various ways to meet this increased demand for air travel, in developing terminals and destinations as well as in our environmental work,” Ms Ljunggren adds.
During the first two months of the year, 722,261 people flew to or from Göteborg Landvetter Airport, an increase of 4 per cent compared to the same period last year. The number of landings during the same period was 4,667, an increase of 2 per cent compared to 2013.
