“Our upward trend continues, and all indications are that we will beat last year’s record. There is strong demand for international travel from people in western Sweden, and in November London in particular attracted passengers, with the number of flights there up 16 per cent during the month,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
The total for November shows a 1 per cent increase in passenger volume compared to November last year.
In November, the number of passengers who flew internationally was up 4 per cent, to 284,986. The number of domestic passengers in November this year was 128,479, a 5 per cent decline compared to the same period in 2013.
However, so far this year domestic traffic has increased 4 per cent. From January to November, 1,266,194 people flew domestically to or from Göteborg Landvetter, which is the highest figure ever for the period.
International traffic has also shown an increase during the first eleven months of the year, 3 per cent to 3,528,854.
A total of 4,795,048 people have flown to or from Göteborg Landvetter Airport so far this year.
The number of landings at the airport in November totalled 2,509, an increase of 1 per cent compared to November last year. From January to November, 28,332 aircraft landed at the airport, also an increase of 1 per cent over the figure for 2013.
