Non-stop service to the Swiss business metropolis has long been on people’s wish lists, especially those of western Swedish businesses. Beginning this spring, that will be a reality.
“Zurich is on the list of the ten destinations that would mean most and be of greatest value in cash terms for the region. Now we can check this off the list, which is something that all of us at the airport and everyone else involved in the go:Connect partnership are very pleased about,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director.
“The question of access is critical to international business. So it is very gratifying that we now have non-stop service to Zurich. It is a great joy when our broad collaboration to add new routes produces results,” says Patrik Andersson, chief executive of Business Region Göteborg.
The Göteborg Landvetter–Zurich route will initially be served with one evening departure on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5.15 p.m. Beginning May 20, the time will change to 9.30 a.m. on those days. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, flights will depart Göteborg Landvetter to Zurich at 8.10 p.m. Flights will depart from Zurich at 2.10 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays until May, when the departure time will change to 6.30 a.m. On the other days – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday – the departure time from Zurich is 5.10 p.m.
The route will be served by an aircraft type Avro RJ-100, and flying time is estimated at two hours and fifteen minutes.
