The total number of passengers in September was thus up 4 per cent. In all, 3,910,683 passengers travelled to or from Göteborg Landvetter during the first nine months of the year, an increase of 3 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.
“The strong growth we have seen during the year indicates the clear need for access by air and the importance of western Sweden’s international airport,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
International passenger volume in September this year was up 4 per cent compared to the same month last year. There were a total of 335,339 international passengers for the month, which was a record for September. So far in 2014, 2,911,403 people have flown internationally at Göteborg Landvetter.
A record was also set for domestic traffic, with 137,376 passengers. That is the highest domestic passenger volume ever for a single month. From January to September, 999,280 people flew to or from one of Göteborg Landvetter’s four domestic destinations: Stockholm, Borlänge, Kalmar or Sundsvall.
The total number of landings in September 2014 was 2,890. So far this year, a total of 22,850 aircraft have landed at Göteborg Landvetter, an increase of 1 per cent compared to 2013.
