Max to open at Göteborg Landvetter

Göteborg Landvetter Airport will expand the range of food on offer there when the Swedish hamburger chain Max opens a new restaurant in the check-in hall in February. The burgers from this family-owned company are popular in Gothenburg, and the restaurant at Göteborg Landvetter Airport will be the fifth in the Gothenburg region.

“Good quality, service and a broad offering are what we want to give our passengers at Göteborg Landvetter. So it is really nice to be able to welcome Max to the airport. Bringing a Swedish fast food chain here that has a clear environmental profile is an added benefit,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

Passengers and visitors will be able to buy Max burgers made of Swedish beef as well items with Swedish chicken and bacon. Max provides environmental product declarations for its food and offsets 100 per cent of its environmental impact by planting trees in Uganda.

The opening will be carried out in partnership with SSP, which operates a number of restaurants at the airport and will also be responsible for running the Max restaurant. Recruitment is underway to hire about 50 employees.

“We are very pleased to be able to open a Max restaurant at Göteborg Landvetter with SSP. We are investing in the Gothenburg region because we know that many guests appreciate our burgers. Göteborg Landvetter is a milestone for us,” says Richard Bergfors, president of Max.

“The travel experience starts at the airport, and the food and beverages on offer there are a critical factor. With the new Max restaurant, all of our families with small children in particular will have a convenient, comfortable alternative either at the start of their trip or upon their return,” Ms Ljunggren adds.
