2015-11-09, kl. 13:37

A total of 579,597 people flew to or from Göteborg Landvetter Airport during October. That means the airport has now had more than 5,000,000 passengers so far in 2015.

Total passenger volume in October increased 23 per cent compared to the previous year. As with other figures for 2015, the traffic transferred from Säve Airport accounts for a large part of this increase. But even excluding the Säve traffic, passenger volume in October 2015 was up 4 per cent compared to the same month in 2014.

International traffic in October was up a full 32 per cent compared to the previous year. Excluding the Säve traffic, the increase in international traffic was 3.5 per cent.

- During October, we added a number of new international routes – to Brussels, Paris and Warsaw. The expanded offering shows that there is a need for travel in this thriving region and that this also generates higher traffic, says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

A total of 141,630 people flew domestically in October, a 2 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2014.

Passenger volume so far in 2015 has thus passed the 5,000,000 mark. More specifically, 5,254,119 people flew to or from Göteborg Landvetter Airport during the first ten months of the year, a 20 per cent increase compared to 2014. There were 4,070,787 international passengers and 1,183,332 domestic passengers. The increase in passenger volume excluding the Säve traffic was about 3 per cent.
