During West Pride, which starts today, May 28, passengers are offered make-overs at Göteborg Landvetter Airport with the theme “From dull to drag”. The airport is also hosting drop-in weddings in Rainbow Park (Bältesspännar Park) on Saturday between 2 and 6 p.m.
“We want to be a role model in sustainable development and work actively so that all people have the same rights. So it seems obvious for us to take an active part in West Pride. Since we perform about 150 weddings a year at Göteborg Landvetter, and it is possible to hold same-sex marriages at all Swedavia airports, it is really nice that we have this opportunity at West Pride this year,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
Since 2012, Swedavia has taken part in pride festivals across Sweden in order to support the fight to ensure that all people have equal rights and value, with its support of LGBT people being a key part of this. Participating in West Pride is a way to show that Swedavia is an employer that welcomes diversity and is convinced differences are enriching and result in good business.
