Peasant biscuits (Bondkakor)

200 g butter
2 dl sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup (light molasses)
1 dl almonds
1½ tsp sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
5 dl flour

Chop the almonds and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Form the dough into thick logs about 5 cm in diameter. Cut the logs into slices about 1 cm thick. Bake at 175° C for about 12-13 minutes.
