Art exhibition with works by Magnus Björkbom

2015-04-13, kl. 12:30

Beginning April 10, anyone flying from the airport can see Magnus Björkbom’s works at Kiruna Airport.

Tell. Convey. Express. These are key words in Magnus Björkbom’s art. In a collaboration between Swedavia, the art centre Resurscentrum Konst Norrbotten and of course the artist himself, the exhibition Väl där, var det som hemma (‘Once we got there, it was like home ’) will be held at the airport. This is what Magnus Björkbom said about his images prior to the exhibition:

“A world of images that slowly blows up into its own bubble world. Things more or less based on reality are mixed with new and recurring characters, themes and metaphors in familiar as well as peculiar scenarios.”

The exhibition will be on display April 10–June 11, 2015, in the departure hall, after the security checkpoint.

About Magnus Björkbom

Magnus Björkbom was born and raised in Luleå. He started his studies at Sunderby Art School, and during his last year his eyes were opened by the gallery Art & Form. This contact resulted in a contract, which allowed Björkbom to devote himself full-time to his art. Björkbom has held solo and group exhibitions in Sweden, and has received grants, been commissioned to create public art and had works purchased by various organisations. In 2008 he was awarded the Municipality of Luleå’s studio scholarship.
