New passenger record at Bromma

2016-01-07, kl. 12:53

Today, December 17, a new passenger record will be set at Bromma Stockholm Airport. On board Malmö Aviation’s plane from Göteborg Landvetter Airport are 62 passengers who are helping to set a new record of more than 2,400,000 passengers flying to or from the airport. That means the airport’s previous passenger record, set in December 2014, will be broken with this flight’s new “record passengers”.

There will be a proper celebration when the airport’s passenger record is broken. As passengers exit the plane, they will be greeted by Bromma Stockholm’s airport director, Peder Grunditz, in the terminal building. All passengers will be included in the celebration, featuring speeches and a little gift bag from Swedavia and Malmö Aviation.

“It is fantastic that it has now become a tradition that we are able to celebrate a new passenger record right before Christmas every year. This confirms that Bromma Stockholm Airport’s importance for air travel to and from all of Sweden is steadily increasing,” Mr Grunditz notes.

The total number of passengers flying to or from Bromma Stockholm increased 5 per cent in 2015 compared to 2014. International traffic has grown 19 per cent in 2015, while domestic traffic is up 3 per cent compared to 2014.

“Next year, we anticipate another new record and expect to pass the 2.5 million passenger mark here at Bromma Stockholm,” Mr Grunditz adds.

In 2016, Bromma Stockholm Airport – Sweden’s third largest airport – celebrates 80 years as a city airport.
