Change in flights on offer affects Bromma’s international traffic in June

2013-07-09, kl. 12:05

In June, about 177,500 passengers travelled to or from Bromma Stockholm Airport, a decrease of five per cent compared to the same period last year.

The number of domestic passengers was about 155,500, which is a decrease of one per cent compared to the same month last year. The number of passengers flying internationally in June was about 22,800, which is a decrease of 26 per cent compared to the same period last year.

“As far as domestic travel is concerned, we are almost on par with last year’s passenger numbers, with a decrease of one per cent. The decline in international traffic is due largely to a change in the flights on offer, which means fewer routes for international passengers compared to the way things looked at the same time last year,” says Olle Sundin, airport director at Bromma Stockholm Airport.

In June, the number of landings was down eight per cent, from about 1,900 to 1,700, at Bromma Stockholm Airport.

In June, some 3.1 million passengers flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports, an increase of four per cent compared to the same period last year. The number of domestic passengers was essentially unchanged at 1.0 million, while the number of international passengers increased seven per cent compared with June 2012 to 2.1 million.

So far in 2013 (January–June), 16.2 million passengers have flown to or from one of Swedavia’s airports, an increase of one per cent, while the number of landings has fallen one per cent compared to the first six months of 2012.
