See Nationalmuseum’s exhibition Crossing Borders at Stockholm Arlanda

If you are flying out of Terminal 5, don’t miss Nationalmuseum’s exhibition of portraits Crossing Borders, with photographs of noted Swedes who have left an impression in the world.

Several generations of photographers are represented, from Hans Gedda and Denise Grünstein to Sanna Sjöswärd and Magnus Laupa. They seek different forms of expression and inspiration from a range of sources – advertising and fashion photos as well as film and video – which sometimes gives their work a theatrical quality. The portraits are deliberately staged. At the same time, there are examples of intimacy and distance, of close-ups and formal poses.

Some of the Swedes photographed are the swimmer Therese Alshammar, the actor Tuva Novotny, the author and theatre director Henning Mankell, and the photographer Lennart Nilsson.

The exhibition will be shown in Terminal 5, Gates F26-F68, through August 3, 2014.
