10 tips ahead of your trip this summer

There is heavy air traffic during the summer at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and we do everything to ensure that you have as good an experience as possible. But there are also a few things you can do so that your trip is especially smooth, a little more relaxing and a lot more fun. See all our suggestions here.

10 tips ahead of your trip this summer

Tips for a smooth, enjoyable trip

  1. Make sure your passport is valid before you even book your flight.
  2. Will you be flying to the US? At least 72 hours prior to your departure, you must submit an ESTA application online to enter the US.
  3. Get to the airport well in advance so that you have some leeway and can relax and start your holiday when you are still at the airport.
  4. Are you taking your car to the airport? Book a parking space in advance so that you are guaranteed a space when you arrive. In the summer, transfer buses also run more frequently than usual between the Alfa long-term car park and the terminals.
  5. Check in on your own using the self-service bag drop and save time. See the video about the self-service bag drop
  6. Special baggage. Prams, golf bags and other oversize baggage must be dropped off at the special baggage check-in counter, where you must show your boarding card. Please note that special baggage arrives on a special baggage belt on your return to Stockholm Arlanda.
  7. Don’t pack sharp objects in your hand baggage, and avoid liquids as much as possible. Regulations on liquids
  8. Prepare for security screening – place all small items such as your mobile phone, keys, coins and other objects in your outer garment or sport jacket, which will then be x-rayed. It is a good idea to remove these garments while you are in the security checkpoint queue. If you have a computer with you, this must be removed from its case and placed separately in a container on the conveyor belt. Information about security screening
  9. Let children run off some energy in one of the airport’s play areas prior to the flight. Tips for people travelling with small children
  10. Familiarise yourself with the airport online before your flight so that you are fully aware of what is available at the airport before you arrive. Which terminal are you flying from? Information about your airport

Have a lovely trip!
