Stockholm Arlanda’s partner ABBA The Museum now open

2013-05-08, kl. 15:33

Today, Tuesday, May  7, was the opening of ABBA The Museum. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is a proud partner of the museum, and this collaboration includes a separate ABBA exhibit in Terminal 5.

At Stockholm Arlanda, passengers and visitors to Stockholm and Sweden get a unique preview of ABBA The Museum. An exhibit in the baggage hall and in the airport’s tourist information centre in Terminal 5 displays on-stage outfits, music and other items. The exhibit is very popular, especially with arriving international passengers. Many react to the music they recognise and stop to take a photo of themselves and their travel companions next to the pictures.

“With almost 20 million passengers a year, Stockholm Arlanda is the most important gateway to Stockholm and Sweden. We want to be able to welcome passengers and visitors with what the region has to offer, and obviously ABBA The Museum is a new and very attractive destination,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director, Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Sweden is generally a country that depends on exports, and its relatively high level of musical exports has become a distinguishing feature.

“ABBA was the first really big Swedish musical export, and many artists have followed in their steps since then. So it feels really good that Stockholm Arlanda, which facilitates a large share of Sweden’s international contacts and tourism, can showcase a taste of ABBA The Museum,” Mr Westin adds.
