“By relocating to Stockholm Arlanda from the city of Västerås, we have the possibility to offer our passengers more international air links and we can expand our network. Our business concept is to offer passengers affordable alternatives to the US and Canada with short transfer times in Reykjavik,” says Skúli Mogensen, CEO and owner of WOW air.
“I grew up in Sweden, so it is especially nice that we have been so well received in Sweden and that many Swedes choose to fly with us both to Iceland and to our destinations in North America,” he says.
Passengers who want to continue onward to the airline’s destinations in North America make a brief stop in Reykjavik of about 1 hour and 40 minutes. WOW air flies from Stockholm Arlanda to Washington, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal and New York (beginning November 25).
“We are really pleased to welcome a new carrier, WOW air, to Stockholm Arlanda. Now our passengers will have increased access to Iceland as well as a shorter transfer time to the destinations in the US and Canada that the carrier serves from Reykjavik,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Beginning Friday, November 18, WOW air will fly four times a week between Stockholm Arlanda and Reykjavik, with onward connections to the US and Canada on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays (with additional departures at Christmas and New Year’s).
Tickets can be booked directly on the airline’s English website: www.wowair.co.uk
