For the fourth year in a row, eDreams, one of the largest travel websites in Europe, conducted a survey of the best airports in the world. The survey is based on reviews by more than 18,000 travellers. Stockholm Arlanda Airport was ranked third in the agency’s Top 10 Best Airports in the World 2014, with a total of 4.48 out of 5 possible points, after Düsseldorf Airport and San Francisco Airport.
In addition to being the third best airport in the world, Stockholm Arlanda also came in fourth in a ranking of best airport waiting areas. In past years, Stockholm Arlanda was ranked fifth among the world’s best airports (2013) and eighth (2012). In 2010 and 2011, the airport did not place among the top ten.
“This top ranking in eDreams is confirmation that Stockholm Arlanda Airport is developing in the right direction and is adjusting more and more to passenger demands for good service. Along with new records in passenger growth, Stockholm Arlanda is also an increasingly attractive airport to visit, and the range of services on offer is continuously being developed,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
In early 2014, Swedavia adopted a general approach to the development of Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The development plan, which runs for 30 years, includes measures to increase capacity and efficiency while improving the passenger experience.
