Norwegian’s Stockholm-Bangkok route inaugurated

2013-06-20, kl. 08:57

This afternoon, Norwegian Air Shuttle’s route between Stockholm and Bangkok was inaugurated. As a result, within a short period of time the airline has launched service to two of the most popular destinations outside Europe.

Bangkok today is one of the most economically important cities in Southeast Asia and one of the world’s most popular destinations. Each year, almost 170,000 people, mostly leisure travellers, fly between Stockholm and Bangkok. This afternoon, Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) launched service between the two cities, which clearly increases the options for passengers flying non-stop to that destination.

”Sweden has a very warm relationship with Thailand. New non-stop service facilitates travel as well as exchanges between the countries, both economically and socially,” says Lena Rökaas, deputy airport director or Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Thai Airways already offers service between Bangkok and Stockholm. Norwegian’s first intercontinental service to New York was launched on May 31 this year.
